Why we are lacking patriotism day by day, when will we be Pakistani?

January 25, 2009

Indian Blames and threats of war are going on.  we are being threatened, humiliated  and portrayed as terrorists, irresponsible and people who are living in stone ages.  But despite that we are not changing, why????  Still Indian TV channels are on air, GEO is showing their award ceremonies, and at the same time they are giving threats and mistreating our actors in India.  Have we forgotten what it means to be a Pakistani????  They are accusing of all the sins and evils in the India and the world but no daring and dignified response is coming from us, why????  Indian government and the opposition are speaking the same language on Mumbai terrorist attacks and we are fighting for Provincial, federal and ministries, why???  Have we forgotten that what we are are only if Pakistan is.  Or are we so naive that we do not see the writing on the wall.

We fought for this freedom, we will not surrender it ever

We fought for this freedom, we will not surrender it ever

We are a brave, diverse and moderate nation.  The only Nuclear power among the Muslim states and the sixth in the world.  We are one of those few nations in the world who have developed their own missile systems, who have cruise missiles, who have developed and commissioned their own MBT, who have developed their own Fighter plane, who are developing their own submarines, gun boats, who have one of the largest growing telecom sector in the world, who are developing and manufacturing one of the most high quality fabrics in the world, who have Nobel Prize winners,  have people who despite all odds and hardships have developed systems, which are top of the notch, most sophisticated for their defense.  Who despite so many conflicts and despite in the center of regional conflicts (Afghanistan, USSR) have managed to stay alive and yet progressed.  Who despite a small country both in terms of land, man power and hardware have managed to prove it’s existence with a non friendly Country.  A country which never recognized the existence of our Pakistan from day one.  Which always tries to destabilize us internally and externally.

Let me tell you this once in for all.  We are here to stay and we will.  We want peace but on equal grounds.  Our very existence guarantees world peace and existence of our neighbors.  We will never let anything happens to this country, 99.99% people of this great Pakistan will give their lives for this motherland of ours.  God forbid if war is imposed on us, then the world will see how we will fight that war.

Requirement of current times is to unite and forget all the differences we have, let us once again become one, one as

Pakistan First and foremost

Pakistan First and foremost

Pakistani.  Let us not search for Heroes, Leaders and become heroes and leaders ourselves, let us spread the good and burry the evil and bad.  Let us make Pakistan Great again.

Pakistan Zindabad Always

Canada nears nuclear sales deal with India

January 24, 2009

Saturday, January 24, 2009
OTTAWA: Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday on next-generation reactors for India as the Canadian government closes in on a cooperation deal with the long-time nuclear renegade nation.

Canada’s international trade minister Stockwell Day said India is interested in buying Canadian components, uranium and hazardous waste treatment systems to help build 25 or 30 new reactors. Day made the announcement from Mumbai, where he was wrapping up a four-day trade mission with some of the top CEOs of Canada’s nuclear industry.

“The signals we got very clearly from the government here is that there is room for Canada, there’s room for Canada’s industry and they want Canada involved,’’ Day said from Mumbai.

It’s a pivotal moment for Canada, which stopped nuclear co-operation with India in 1974 after the government used plutonium from a Canadian reactor to build an atomic bomb.

At the urging of the United States, the international community agreed last September to lift the three-decade ban on nuclear trade with India, even though India still refuses to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The end of the moratorium has sparked a global sales rush to the rising economic power, which wants to build the new reactors incoming years.

AECL, the troubled government-controlled corporation that has recently undergone a potential privatization review by Canada’s Conservative government, signed a deal this week with a leading Indian engineering firm to start costing out Candu ACR 1000 reactors- the prelude to a possible sale.

A formal government-to-government agreement that permits international nuclear inspections must be finalised before any commercial deals are sealed.

“It represents a huge opportunity for Canada and for the Canadian nuclear industry as a whole, not just AECL,’’ said Dale Coffin, a spokesman for the corporation.

Since the 45-country Nuclear Suppliers Group lifted the international ban Sept 7, the global community has been rushing to get India’s business.

France’s Areva just signed a deal to supply the country with enriched uranium. Britain had a government delegation trolling for business this week, meeting the same Indian officials as Day.

Shahbaz, Zardari face to face

President seeks time as Punjab CM asks president to repeal 17th Amendment, implement CoD and Murree Declaration By Asim Yasin ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who also heads the PML-N, broke the ice in a dinner meeting here on Friday evening. Both the leading political parties, which have been issuing fiery statements on key issues such as implementation of the Charter of Democracy (CoD) and the Murree Declaration, agreed to continue the political dialogue. A one-on-one meeting between President Zardari and Mian Shahbaz Sharif was held at the President House here on Friday that lasted for 90 minutes. Both the leaders discussed issues such as repeal of the 17th Amendment, restoration of the deposed judges and the working relationship between the PPP and PML-N in the Punjab. Sources said during the meeting, the Punjab chief minister asked the president to replace Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer, implement the CoD and repeal the 17th Amendment. However, both the leaders stuck to their views on the implementation of the CoD, repealing of the 17th Amendment and on the Murree Declaration, as the PML-N wanted their early implementation while the president sought time in this regard. The meeting was held in the background of Saudi and the United Arab Emirates’ efforts to bring both the parties again to the dialogue table. The meeting was held at the invitation of President Zardari, who invited Shahbaz Sharif the other day in Rahimyar Khan where both the leaders had gone to receive UAE President Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who arrived in the city of southern Punjab on a private visit. Besides, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, two senior leaders of the PPP and the PML-N — Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Mian Raza Rabbani and Senator Ishaq Dar — played a vital role in restarting the dialogue process between the top leadership of their parties. According to sources, during the meeting it was decided that both the parties should continue to hold talks with each other to narrow down the differences on key issues. Shahbaz Sharif reiterated the assurance that the PML-N would extend its support to the government if it implemented the Murree Declaration and the CoD. Sources said Asif Zardari told Shahbaz Sharif that the government had already implemented 11 clauses of the CoD out of total 34, and the remaining would be implemented soon. The sources said the president sought time for the implementation of the remaining clauses, saying the PPP was sincere in removing all those articles from the Constitution that were included during the dictatorship. The president said the government was ready to accept the consensus constitutional package and the decision of parliament. The sources said the president assured the Punjab chief minister that there was no threat to his provincial government and the PPP would respect the mandate of the people. The sources said the chief minister told the president that differences with the PPP on some issues did not mean that the PML-N was trying to destabilise the federal government. Shahbaz invited President Zardari to Raiwind. The sources said Zardari also urged the PML-N to review its decision on joining the lawyers’ long march by considering political compulsions of the government, and assured that the Centre would not destabilise the Punjab government. Shahbaz Sharif said the PML-N has no severe differences with the PPP leadership and only wanted the implementation of the CoD in letter and spirit. The sources said after the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif went to the residence of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan from where he briefed Mian Nawaz Sharif on telephone about his talks with PPP Co-chairman Asif Zardari.
